Calendar events that span multiple days

This isn't really a bug but a preference issue. I have noticed that when a calendar event spans multiple days, it can "hog" the summary page.
For example - I have posted an event that is on the 27, 28, and 29th August.
Currently on my summary page (today is 28th), it is showing the event but has it marked as the 27th. This means that some actual upcoming events are not being shown on this page. In most cases, my members would not be able to attend halfway through an event (except conferences that we advertise).
Any ways around this?

I see your point here, although I think this probably specific to an event.
A lot of groups actually want these to display because they want people to know about it while it's going on.
Potentially, there could be a preference for this, although it sounds like a minor issue. (Not to minimize your suggestion!)
no problems - it is relatively rare for my site to have these long events that hog the calendar section on the summary page. It may as easy as being able to choose how many events are displayed on the calendar summary!!
