Is there a cap on invites?

Yes there is a daily system cap on invites. We don't publish that number so as not to invite spam-knuckleheads to push their luck.  That being said, we can increase that number on a case-by-case basis based on my approving them as being legitimate groups whose invitees actually wish to be invited.

Feel free to contact me directly if you feel you have a large number of legitimate invites that need to be sent.

Can you assign that privledge on a case-by-case basis for users? Or is it by the group?  I've been trying to add members to an existing group and I can only do 10 invites per day.  I'm going to create a new group and would like the ability to invite a large number at one time.

Are you attempting to invite members to a group where you are the manager or a member? Knowing this makes a difference in how we can help you.

Here is how daily invitation limits work:

We recently implemented these new invite limitations to prevent individual Groupsite Manager's from being able to spam uninterested parties.

Groupsites have always been about quality vs. quantity. That's one reason we watch over many things -- like member acceptance-to-invitation ratios. And, often those observations tell us that we need to make a change.

That’s why we’ve introduced new daily invitation limits. These limits will help prevent email abuse and frees up system processes, better optimizing collaboration and system performance.

Per-member, daily invitation limits:

Members: 10 invitations, across all of the member’s Groupsites (this number cannot currently be increased)

Managers: 25 – 1,000 invitations, per Groupsite (this number can be increased upon request.

These changes:
Apply to inviting new members to Groupsites, only.
Do not apply when you invite existing members to subgroups.
Do not apply to members if you have not permitted your member to invite others to your Groupsite.
Do not apply if you are an Unlimited/Enterprise customer, have contacted your Account Representative and have established additional invitation quantity permissions.

We hope this background information helps with understanding how and why it works this way.  If you need your daily invite limit increased in a Groupsite in which you are a Manager, we can do this for you.  You will need to write to us: support@groupsite.com with the name and URL  of the Groupsite and the number of users you are attempting to invite.  This unfortunately cannot currently be done if you need the number increased in a Groupsite where you are not a Manager.
