How to Link to a Specific Comment in a Discussion Topic?

I'd like to be able to create hyperlinks that direct users to a specific comment in a discussion thread/topic -- basically an anchor link that would take users directly to a comment further down the page, rather than to just the top of the page. Does anyone know how to do this?

Joe - There currently is no way to do this in the present system but that is a GREAT idea. I have submitted a support ticket (#1434) for that enhancement.

Excellent! Thanks, Shaun!

I agree -- I really want to see this too!

Any updates here?

Hi, Joe. Looks like there is now a unique link for each specific Discussion post. You can see the URL in your Web browser window by clicking on "Permalink," located just under each reply.

Here's an example of Shaun's initial reply in this forum to this topic:

Excellent!

How can I get the permalinks to show up on my Groupsite?

Hi, Joe. This isn't a feature that has to be turned on. If you're not seeing the word "Permalink" to the left of "Reply to Topic" (and, left of "Edit Reply" if you're a manager), you may want to try logging out and logging back in again, or even clearing your Web browser cache. If you still don't see the Permalinks please let me know.

Got it now, thanks much!

Excellent!  Next logical step would be to automate the use of the topic reply permalink in the "Recent Activities" module/log, as well as the recent activties emails.  Is that something you at Groupsite foresee doing?
