I wasn't sure how this worked, so I thought I would ask.
Is there a way for a member to keep from receiving email blasts send from a manager? Or are only updates allowed to be controlled by the end user.

Stephen,
While members can control the frequency (including "never") of receiving Recent Activity Updates, they cannot control the frequency of receiving email blasts sent by a Groupsite manager. We do plan to make this option available to users in the future.
We also encourage Groupsite Managers to use their Groupsite tools wisely: send an email blast when that's the best method of communication to use; post a discussion topic or blog article when that's the better tool - depending on what you are trying to accomplish.
Thanks, Diana -
Good to know I wasn't missing anything, and that that preference level may be an option.
I do use eblasts very judiciously - generally only for time-sensitive announcements. I just had gotten one tetchy reply from a member that insisted not to receive any notices (for which I am unsure why he is a member). =)
Stephen, that's a great guideline and thanks sharing it here -- generally speaking, to limit eblasts for time-sensitive announcements.
