Apologies if this feature has already been requested - I haven't been able to find anything similar.
It would be fantastic if the number of downloads could be limited per member. This should be configurable to limit the number of downloads either:
- per day;
- per week;
- per month;
- any combination of the above; or,
- total downloads
The member should then be able to see how many more downloads they are entitled to.
Real World Application
When the paid membership feature becomes available, limiting the number of downloads is an excellent way to prolong the life of a paying member. The temptation would be for some members to download everything available in the first month and then cancel membership. This is one way of dissuading this behaviour.

Michael - I understand the nature of your request but it probably will not pass our "90% Test" any time soon. Our 90% Test is what we use to determine which features get added to the platform. We focus on the features that 90% of our user will use 90% of the time.
An alternative approach would be to create subgroups within your Groupsite that you can treat as "premium" and continue to add fresh content only in those subgroups on a monthly basis that only dues paying members have access to.
We have plenty of training companies as well as MBA programs that do exactly that. Each class has its on subgroup with its own content. Once the class is over, you can keep people in the main Groupsite but delete them from the subgroup where the premium content is if you wish.
Hope that helps,
Shaun
Fair enough, Shaun.
Do you have a process whereby developments can be paid for by someone requiring it? If so, please explain how this works, and how you quote for it.
Michael - While we are a dedicated team, we don't have the deepest bench and aren't proactively looking for custom development jobs at any price. That being said, feel free to give me a shout (my number is on my profile page) and I will be happy to discuss with you exactly what your requirements are and take a look at the level of effort required to deliver.
Thanks,
Shaun
Thanks Shaun,
Since you're not able to take on custom development, let's leave this for now. Perhaps we can readdress this after I've launched my paid membership site. Let's see if it really does become an issue.

Michael
