using hyperlinks
hello,
Creating hyperlinks on keywords is a great feature! Unfortunately, when I tried to turn the word Discussion into a link to the discussions forum, it didn't work. The word flashed when I hit save but it was not turned into a hyperlink after I updated the text block. Is there a special tip or trick that I missed that wasn't in the video? Not sure why it didn't work. I also tried to use the create/edit image to add an image and had the same issue.
I tried to search on discussions to see if there was already a discussion on this but the search function is temporarily unavailable.
This is for the public Introspectiveadvantage groupsite. The original question was on the summary page in a text module. I went back and tried to do it on a discussion page, as well, with the same result.

How do I change the File Cabinet 'default folder' when uploading docs to the discussion forum? | 2 | 0 | 1817 |
I have a question that is possibly relevant here. I apoligize if it's been dealt with somewhere or in a help area. Is it possible to make reference to a file in the cabinet and have a link directly from the discussion to the file itself?
Hi, Tommy.
When you write a discussion post, you can use the "Attach a File" feature (paperclip icon) of the WYSIWYG text editor to link the file to the discussion to the file.
Graphic or PDF files that you have upload to your group's File Cabinet open as their own web page when clicked on, and have their own unique URL. Therefore, for these type of files, you have the additional option of linking to them directly from your discussion text. This is done as a hyperlink, also using the WYSIWYG editor (chain link icon). Click here to see more about how to create hyperlinks.

I found that this is a main issue (meaning that I do not care for the four taps for editing option within the replay area) Although I had been here before.. Typically i would automatically switch over to the advance editor or the html source area.
The html source area is a bit harder to master then using the advanced editor. One would need to know a simple code in order to get the code to work. I think to many flashy banners and buttons is enough.
So basically know the code and the correct link and it placement within the code can create the hyperlink you desire.
For instance..
Step 1: Highlight a word like hyperlink
Step 2: Once the word is highlighted, note the chain icon second row third box from the end. This icon has two options, A) an image of a three linked chain without brakes. B) A one link chain broken.
Step 3: Now highlight the "first chain link icon. a small pop up will appear and you can then insert the url of the site or link you need. select any other options you may need like Open in new window etc. Then click save etc.
Step 4: The Hyperlink should have been added. If not you many need to rethink what browser your currently using. Some times your pop-up blocker (if one is installed) may actually block this proses.
