Calendar Event Comment Notification

Our users are asking for a feature that will notify them when comments are made on an event.
I'm thinking that if someone posts an event to the calendar, then they should be "subscribed" to it, much like you are when you post a thread. Any comments, rsvp's etc. should notify the owner of the event.
Also, wondering if it would make sense for anyone who has RSVP'd Yes/Maybe to an event to also be subscribed to the event "thread" and get any future comments.

Chris - Interesting suggestion. This is the first request. I like the idea of the event creator being "subscribed". Need to think on the pros and cons of doing the same for those who RSVP. We want to be very aware of how much stuff we are sending to inboxes which are already way too full.

Just had another request today for the event creator to have an email notification when people respond and comment. I like the subscription idea. Perhaps for those who did not create the event, notification could be optional, i.e. check here if you'd like to be notified.
Any update on this one? I can appreciate the desire to keep things out of inboxes, but facilitating effective communication to a wide variety of users is important to our group. We have varying levels of computer skillset. The groupsite is fantastic for that, but some people need more "poking" via email to trigger them than others.
FYI: I requested the same thing here: http://champions.groupsite.com/discussion/topic/show/279265
We do not have a way to do this today but I believe we should. The creator of the event should be auto-subscribed so that they are notified of any comments that are made. Same thing should happen regarding comments made to the Group Blog. I have submitted an enhancement request (2168).
Thanks for pointing it out.
