How member was referred to group

I constantly have people joining and dont know where they came from. Were they invited by a member. Did they read about us? Did I send them an invite? I want to capture this field as a requirement (as a dropdown perhaps). Required custom questions apparently are not enforced (someone got in without answering them) so I cant use that functionality. Additionally custom questions dont offer a scoped list to select from. This request can be considered part of my request for custom profile fields.

I have spent the last 15 minutes giving endorsements to a stack of my members! - The feature works really well. I love the new profile pages and will be advertising these new features to members in the next couple of days. When someone is endorsed do they receive an email notification?

Kudos to Joe and Clarence (the ideas man) for launching these new profile features. They will be an excellent way for me to reward people in my group.

....Oh my g-d......Joe and Clarence, this is really looking good. You must have put a ton of work into the changes that launched today. I especially like:
* the new ways of browsing profiles
* the concept of the kudos
* the way that the organization of a community is panning out and developing

Regarding kudos, I immediately went to give networking kudos to a few select members, in essence saying "Joe Blow is an excellent networker and knows how to create opportunities for himself and others through networking." My purpose is to promote networking between members of course. To reach my objective it may be more effective to establish a set of kudo attributes, like "networking", and have other members rate each other on the attributes I establish. This is kind of like a comparative branding rating or competitive anaylsis. I work with my members to determine what attributes are the most important for my group, I create them, and have members rate each other on them. I add or subtract attributes based on what my group decides.

The recent upgrades are awesome. Thanks.

There is some feedback that I have received and now it's more evident with the new feature set. That is the font size and clarity of the font for particular screens. I was wondering if enyone else out there was noticing the same thing. I know you can hit CONTROL + to zoom a screen but in this application it starts to disjoint the site.

Just making things a little easier to read would be a great help. Maybe a pre-set of sizes for fonts. Let me know if others are experiencing this.

Thanks

I agree this is an incredibly important and necessary feature.

I do have one comment,

In the profile of the person that's referred, it's displayed as:

"[Referrer's name] said...
I invited him to [Groupsite name]"

I can't help but cringe every time I see that with my name, because it looks like I went into the person's profile and wrote, "I invited him/her to this groupsite". Sounds too self serving. I guess I have a negative thing for being perceived as saying something I didn't say, and I definitely know other people have a bigger problem with it than me.

I'd just rather have it say "Invited by: [Referrer's name]"

I can't wait for the Manager feature so I can see all the referrers at once (and give them proper credit)!

Makes a lot of sense, Neil.

We'll kick this around tomorrow. I can understand why you'd take offense to it saying "Neil Takemoto said..." when you haven't actually said anything yourself. Definitely something less emphatic would do more good. Maybe we just display your name in the same spot above but just say "Neil Takemoto" and then say "Invited to: [Group Name]".

Makes a lot of sense. Joe let's make this modification. We can remove the "...said:" from the invitor's name. Then say [Invitors Name invited InviteesName to GroupName]
