It would be cool to be able to see which members are logged in and be able to chat to them directly. The chats could be saved as transcripts in the discussion forum.

Sure... one day... we'll integrate chat functionality.... I can't say when just yet ;-)
No problems Clarence. I just post the ideas as I have them. I promise I will run out of ideas soon! Also I wouldn't expect that you would be able to provide all these features and also realise that many of them would be premium features. Speaking of which - are there any cool new premium features in the pipeline??
No problem... that's what this forum is for. Don't hesitate to list any ideas that you may have.
As far as cool premium features, we will probably add group stats as a premium option next. You'd be able to see your page views, member logins, etc. It would be done with nice charts and graphs. We don't have a timeline for this feature quite yet.
After completing CollectiveX 2.0... we will be shifting our attention to our Ad infrastructure and our enterprise group options. We have some really cool ideas for our ad infrastructure. Google Ad Words don't do it for us.
I am looking forward to hearing about the ad infrastructure. I think there are probably some really cool things you could do in CollectiveX re: advertising. The group that I am in the process of getting up and running now (connecting private practice psychologists across Australia), would benefit from members being able to advertise their practices within the group, but also to the general public. It may be that the CollectiveX platform (with the profiles) will make an excellent online resume (aka LinkedIn, Ziki etc).
Gareth,
If you have any ideas regarding how we could implement local advertising within CollectiveX... now would be the time to suggest them ;-)
Thanks,
Clarence
Hi Clarence:
I cant say that I have thought these ideas through with any details (it isnt my strength) but here are just a few ideas
1) group managers could be provided with some tools (media description and site stats) so they can independently approach potential advertisers for their site. For example, assuming I get a big enough group of psychologists together, I could probably approach some test suppliers, insurance providers etc and pitch the idea of using collective x to advertise. This would be made easier if i could clearly tell advertisers ("we have 1000 members and the site is viewed 500 times per day").
2) The profiles in CollectiveX (CX) could probably be nicely presented as online calling cards/advertising. Might be an interesting way for CX members to advertise their business using their online profile (i.e., CX converts it for a small price). One of the services I use (ziki) purchases google advertising for members. If you type in gareth furber in google - the sponsored link will be my ziki profile. essentially members are paying you a small feel to convert their profile into an online business card.
3) A referral program would be nice. For example, if i recommend the service to someone in my field who sets up a group with premium features, I get a cut. This may encourage group managers to further promote CX.
4) set up a marketplace where CX members can advertise on other group's sites. For example a group of psychologists may wish to advertise on a support group's site (with permission of course). group managers could negotiate with each other to show certain types of advertising.
