Is the ability to create sub groups already on the list? Our groupsite is made up of leadership from regional BNI chapters and I'd list to have a way to group by position held (Pres, VP, Sec/Treas, etc.). It would also be helpful to selectively send email to a specific group.

Catherine,
As of yet, CollectiveX does not support sub-groups. However, you may create as many additional groups as you would like and each member would be able to quickly switch between these groups via the group selector drop-down in the upper-right corner of the page. Each group could have it's own settings, managers, etc. Many CollectiveX users are a member of more than one group, and there are also a good number of group managers who have created additional groups for their members to join which are related to one main group. Further, in "View All" mode, members can browse the data from all of their groups simultaneously. This would allow them to view all of the data from your subgroups at the same time.
We will be adding a tagging feature in the near future so that you can tag members with a keyword. Example, there may be 5 members in your group that belong to a certain committee. You would be able to tag each of the committe members with the a keyword such as "host committee." When starting discussions or sending out email blasts or calendar invites, you'll have the option of selecting recipients by tag. Which would give you the ability to email only the members that you have tagged with your "host committee" keyword.
Also, we will soon be adding an additional feature to allow managers to quickly pull existing members from a group that they manage directly into another group that they manage. This would probably be a boon to what you are trying to accomplish.
Which feature would you like to see first? Tagging or a quick way to pull members into a other groups that you manage?
There may come a time when creating another group will make more sense. But for now, I think tagging sounds best for our current needs.
Clarence,
I'm also liking the mentioned "tagging" feature. We are using the mentioned strategy of having several different groups with many people common to several groups. However, they may have different roles within each of the several different groups that they are a member of. Given that current personal information is homogenous across the several groups it is not possible to convey those different roles.
I'd also suggest that the "tag" information also be displayed in conjunction with their discussion contributions and someone way to include it in the members profile page, e.g. toggle between there tag and homogenous personal information.
Thanks and wishing yall an even greater 2nd year!
