How do I move a post to a different topic?

I thought this option existed. Now I can't find it. We have members who should have started a new topic. I would like to create the topic and move the post while leaving the previous posts in place.

Tom - The only option we currently have is the ability to move an entire Discussion Topic from one Discussion Form to another. We do not currently have the ability to move a single Reply to Topic or string of Replies and leave the rest in place.
Interesting potential feature if we could do it in a way that would not confuse most users.
Here's a quick video showing you how:
How To Move a Discussion Topic to a Different Forum in a Groupsite from Shaun Callahan on Vimeo.
The video is very helpful and is allowing me to clean up and organize the site. My one question concerns moving topics and the RSS feeds. Will moving topics in such a manner break those links/feeds?
Hi Shaun,
I just followed your instructions on moving a Discussion Topic to a Different Forum and the Topic moved but all of the thread responses are now gone. The new forum that I moved the topic to was located under a Sub-Group, is the process different for SubGroups?
Dan,
Moving a discussion topic from the main group into a subgroup is not yet allowed - unfortunately this was not locked out as we previously thought it to be.
Can you point us to the offending topic? You can either post the link here or send it support@collectivex.com
Hi Joe,
Here is the link from the home page that still works:

Here is the link from the Sub-Group page that does not show the thread:

Hi Joe,
I actually had moved two topics before I realized it was not working. Here is the other one.
Good link:

Bad Link:

Thank you!
What was the original forum for each of these topics so that we can move it back for you?
The original names where:
Enhancement Requests for the Treasurer System
and
Enhancement Requests for the Assessor System
They were both originally located under General Discussions. I was trying to get them under the Sub-Groups to avoid confusion.
Thanks
Thanks Dan. Everything should be restored now.
In the future, we may allow moving topics to/from subgroups and the main group.
Thanks Joe, I appreciate your help.
I am trying to do this- move one discussion topic into a different place, and the "move topic" button does not appear at all under the edit topic area. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
DeAndrea, I think this will answer your question:
You can move an entire Discussion Topic from one Discussion Forum to another. However, you cannot today move a single "Reply to" topic or string of replies to another forum and leave the rest in place.
Providing ability to move a single post also has the added complexity of needing to avoid breaking or interrupting threads -- or otherwise risk confusing users. What can be done today (by the original member who made the post, or by the Groupsite Manager) is copy and paste (to a different forum), edit or delete a single post.
Hope this helps. If I've misunderstood what you are trying to do, please let me know.
What if someone starts a new topic that already exists? Is there no way to move a new topic under an existing topic? Ultimately this is what I am looking to do. But, I am still not seeing the button to move a topic at all.
If you click "Edit Topic", then you will get all other sorts of options on the edit page.
We're very open to suggestions on where to put some of these other buttons to make them more visible from the topic display page and prevent the need to go the edit page.
Our user interface design philosophy is to make the things that people do 90% of the time very easy to find. However, if the rest of the stuff is impossible or counter-intuitive then we want to fix it or make it easier to find.
