- A member can reset their password at any time by clicking on the "Forgot Password?" link, located on the login page of any Groupsite. (For ex: https://champions.groupsite.com/login).
- A "forgot password" link is also located under the login box in the sidebar area, visible on the home page of Public and Limited visibility Groupsites:
- Groupsite Managers can refer a member to reset their passwords from these links.
- If the member has forgotten their User Name (email address), a Groupsite Manager can provide this information to the member. Managers can view a member's email from the member's profile (when contact information is shared), or any time from the "Manage Members" area of the Groupsite.
- Once you know the email address of a member, you also have the option of requesting a password reset link on behalf of that member. Simply visit the login page, click "Forgot Password" and enter the member's User Name (email address). An email containing a password reset link will be sent to that member.
- For security purposes, the member is required to access to their email, click the password reset link they receive, and create the new password themselves.
- If a member does not have access to the verified email address associated with their user account and also cannot remember their password, Groupsite.com cannot securely validate that member's account. In this case, the member should rejoin the Groupsite under a new email address. The manager can then delete the old membership from the Groupsite. This will leave the "old" membership's posts and contributions in the Groupsite, but it will remove the "old" profile.
- Related: Changed Email/No Access to Email. If the member does remember their User Name (email address) and Password, but simply does not have access to that email account any longer, the member can still log-in to their Groupsite. In this case, the member should log-in and change the email address associated with their user account. Once the member verifies the new email address (from a verification link sent to that email), they can delete the old email address for their profile.
