How to - Lock a Discussion Topic

Sometimes, you may want to post a Discussion Topic for information only and "lock" it so no replies can be made.  This approach is often used for group policies, terms and conditions or even FAQs.  You may also want to lock a topic after the conversation has run it's course or the subject of the topic's deadline has passed.

Here's how:

1. Select Discussions under the COMMUNICATE tab.

2. Select the Forum that contains the topic you want to lock and select that topic.

3. Select the "edit topic" link at the bottom of the first post.

4. Click the "Lock Topic" button towards the top right of the body of the page.
